I had the opportunity to engage with patients undergoing 3-4 hour hemodialysis sessions. It was a humbling experience, as I spent time offering companionship and support to help alleviate the boredom and discomfort they often faced during these long procedures. I listened to their stories, shared light conversations, and simply provided a comforting presence. My goal was to create a more positive environment and enhance their comfort during what can be a physically and emotionally draining time. Through this experience, I gained a deeper understanding of their resilience and the importance of human connection in healthcare settings.
